Químicas españolas en la Edad de Plata

Resumen

Resumen: Este artículo aborda las contribuciones de las españolas a la Química, en el primer tercio del siglo XX, periodo conceptualizado como la Edad de Plata. Incluye algunas notas sobre el acceso femenino a las sociedades científicas, en particular a la Sociedad Española de Física y Química, predecesora de la Real Sociedad Española de Química, y sobre el Laboratorio Foster de Química, en la Residencia de Señoritas. Se mencionan las que trabajaron en los laboratorios de Química del Instituto Nacional de Ciencias y las que lo hicieron en el Instituto Nacional de Física y Química.

Abstract: This paper is about the contributions of Spanish women to Chemistry, in the first third of the twentieth century, a period known as the Age of Silver. Includes some notes on women’s access to scientific societies, particularly to the Spanish Society of Physics and Chemistry, the predecessor of the current Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, and on the existence of the Foster Laboratory, a Chemical laboratory placed in the Residence for Girls. Those women who worked at the laboratories of Chemistry, in the National Institute of Science and in the National Institute of Physics and Chemistry, are also mentioned .
