Resumen: Se presenta una visión histórica de la Química Teórica en España. Se consideran tres etapas: inicios, expansión y madurez. Tanto en la introducción como en el último apartado, sobre el futuro, se propone una perspectiva más amplia.

Abstract: A historical visión of Theoretical Chemistry in Spain is presented. Three stages are considered: beginnings, expansion and maturity. A more large perspective is adopted in the introduction and in the last paragraph on the future.
