Resumen
Resumen: Las patentes son frecuentemente olvidadas y en investigación no suelen considerarse como auténtica literatura científica, ni como modo de contribuir al progreso de la ciencia mediante la protección de los resultados de la tarea investigadora . Este artículo pretende acercar el mundo de las patentes a los químicos para que en el día a día las consideren bibliografía, las utilicen activamente protegiendo el resultado de su trabajo, o se conviertan incluso en el objeto mismo del trabajo . La definición de invención, los requisitos para patentar, las consecuencias, incluso la jerga utilizada, deberán resultar más familiares tras la lectura del presente artículo.

Abstract: Patents are frequently neglected, and in the research work are usually not considered relevant scientific literature, or a way to contribute to the progress of science by protecting the research results . This article intends to bring the patents world to the chemists, so that they take them into account on a daily basis, considering their contents as scientific literature, or actively using them by protecting their research, or even making patents the object of their work. The definition of invention, the patentability requisites, the consequences of patenting, or even the jargon used, should be more familiar upon reading this article .
